How to choose an LCD display screen?

1. Response time 

Signal response time refers to the time required for a pixel to change from bright to dark and then back to bright again. Response time reflects the speed at which each pixel of the LCD display responds to the input signal, and the smaller the value, the better. In the past, the response time of most LCDs was between 20 and 100 milliseconds, but newer models can achieve less than 20 milliseconds. The smaller the response time, the less likely the moving images will cause the user to perceive trailing effects.

A simple way to judge response time is to move the mouse quickly. On low-end LCD, the cursor disappears during rapid movement and reappears only after a short delay when the mouse stops moving. During normal movement, the mouse trail can be clearly seen. This can have a significant impact on users playing action or 3D games. LCD with slow signal response will exhibit obvious image trailing and "ghosting" effects, which severely affect display quality. In addition to reading the specifications or promotional materials, practical testing is the most important factor when selecting a display screen.

2. Size 

The size of a display screen is the diagonal length of the cathode ray tube, and its unit is inches (1 inch = 2.539 centimeters). The size of an LCD screen differs from that of a CRT display. Its size generally refers to the actual display size.

For screens smaller than 150 inches (approximately 3.32 meters x 1.87 meters), LCD splicing screens should be considered. These screens can be composed of nine 46-inch or 55-inch splicing screens. For smaller screens, LCD splicing screens have better imaging effects.

3. Resolution 

Unlike CRT displays, LCD displays have fixed resolutions, and their picture quality is best at the specified resolution. The picture can be displayed in other resolutions through expansion or compression. Choose an LCD screen that is suitable for your usage scenario:

Small conference rooms (less than 10 people) can consider LCD splicing screens, with four small screens spliced together, or an LCD conference all-in-one machine.

How to choose an LCD display screen

In large lobby rest areas, most customers choose LCD splicing screens because the screens are displayed for a long time, have soft brightness, and low power consumption.

For exhibition halls, nightclubs, and other scenarios, choose a screen size based on your needs.

For command centers, choose a small pitch LED display screen, with model numbers generally being P1.5, P1.25, or P0.9.

LCD splicing screens are not suitable for outdoor use, as they have weak brightness, poor imaging effects, and are not rain-resistant.

 

In summary, when choosing an LCD display:

◆For small sizes, choose LCD splicing screens;

◆For large sizes, choose small-pitch LED display screens;

◆For complete visual integrity, choose LED display screens;

◆For monitoring centers or small areas requiring high-definition display, choose LCD splicing screens.
