1. Determine what type of LCD screen you need.
The same size, different type, the price will be different. Generally, there is a dot array LCD display, character LCD screen, and segment code LCD screen.
Segment code LCD, also known as pen segment LCD, refers to a fixed display that is displayed or not displayed at a specified location. It can only be used for a simple display of characters and numbers where the content is fixed and you can only choose whether to display it or not. Segment code LCD screen is customized, all products need to be customized.
Dot-array LCD screens can display graphics, Chinese characters, characters, etc. There are Chinese fonts and no Chinese fonts. For the dot-matrix LCD screen with a Chinese character library, the program can extract the content from the font library; for the dot-matrix LCD screen without a Chinese character library, it needs to be written with model-taking software.
But there are also differences in technology, COB LCD and COG LCD are commonly used. the difference between the COB LCD screen and the COG LCD screen is mainly in the bonding position of the IC, the former is bonded on the PCB, and the latter is bonded on the IC. Therefore, compared with the COB LCD screen, the COG LCD screen has the characteristics of small size and low power consumption.
Character-type LCD screens can only display characters and numbers. Generally, there are 1602, 1604, 2004, etc. 1602 means that 2 lines can be displayed, and each line can display 16 characters.
2. Determine the size
It is best to determine the size of the length and width, for example, focus on the number of dot matrices. Take the 12864 dot matrix screen as an example, it means that there are 128 dots horizontally and 64 dots vertically. A Chinese character is generally composed of 16*16 dots, The 12864 LCD screen can display 4 lines, and each line can display 8 Chinese characters.
