In-Cell/On-Cell/OGS capacitive touchscreen technologie
Apr 28, 2023| If you have any knowledge of TFT LCD touchscreens, then you have certainly heard of the In-Cell/On-Cell/OGS capacitive touchscreen technologies. The LCD capacitive touchscreen is used in many industries, but the current market uses a mostly separate touchscreen and LCD display production that is then assembled together. In this era of pursuing integrated smart technology, this type of LCD touchscreen technology no longer meets people's usage demands.
LCD Touch Screen Structure
The structure of an LCD touchscreen can be divided into three layers: the protective layer, the touch layer, and the display layer. Generally, there is an air gap between the protective glass, touch layer, and display panel of a normal LCD touchscreen due to the use of frame adhesive technology. However, full bonding technology removes this air gap, reducing the thickness of the screen. This results in lower reflection, a thinner and more transparent screen, deeper black when the screen is turned off, and clear visibility under bright light.

Full lamination and frame sticking technology for LCD touch screens.
Frame adhesive is commonly used in LCD touchscreens and is simple to operate with a low cost and high yield. However, compared to full bonding, it results in a thicker screen, air-filled gaps that attract dust, and poorer display effects due to light refraction.
Full bonding technology, although difficult to achieve and more expensive, completely bonds the display layer and touch layer together without an air gap, isolating dust and reducing reflection. This technology makes the entire LCD display thinner and more transparent, resulting in better display effects. Despite its lower yield, full-bonding LCD touchscreens are still becoming the mainstream trend in the development of intelligent display devices.
